A Wild Sheep Chase

The story follows an unnamed narrator, a bored and detached young man whose life is turned upside down after he receives a mysterious photograph of a sheep with a star-shaped birthmark. He is tasked by a powerful organization to find this sheep, which is said to possess extraordinary abilities. His journey takes him from Tokyo to the remote mountains of Hokkaido, where he meets a cast of eccentric characters and enters a surreal world of mystery and philosophical speculation.
